A graduate from Leeds University in Textile Management and Low has worked in the technical textiles industry for over 40 years.

Over that time he has managed vertical production companies from spinning the fibre through to warping, weaving and cut and sew. High performance fibres such as PTFE, meta and para aramids, PPS and PAN have all been part of the process.

He has led the growth of technical textile companies by developing international contacts for both sourcing and sales with particular involvement in Europe, India and China.

Key markets include filtration, ballistics, coating and a wide range of bespoke niche applications.

John O’Connor
Chief Consultant

John O’Connor, Principle Consultant for Rebus Intl Inc., has worked in the textile industry for over 45 years, and as a consultant for the past 25 years. John has managed the largest textile vertical operations in Australia, predominately in the woven fabric sector.

He has a Diploma in Business Management and is certified as an Associate of the Textile Institute underpin the vast experience in textile manufacturing.

Either as a manager or as a consultant, John has been engaged to elevate performance – albeit in volume, reduced off-quality, productivity, plant reliability by engaging employees to take ownership of assets and processes and having them adopt a preparedness for cross-skilling and up-skilling. John has experience across apparel, home textiles, industrial filtration & outdoor fabrics sectors. He has also managed textile plant relocation from various parts of the world mainly into Asia.

This knowledge, experience and business acumen that John brings offers the opportunity to textile manufacturing organizations to fast track sustainable business improvement projects.

Amar Zaidi

Amar Zaidi is an Internationally recognised and highly driven Managing Director and CEO of Rebus International Inc; a unique business with a 25-year expertise in textile consulting, strategy planning and machinery trading. Owning one of the largest global textile companies, Amar’s global perspective and entrepreneurial mindset, has placed him as a recognized expert in business ownership, textile technology analytics, business economics, mergers and acquisitions; central to the company’s reputation as a unique provider to the textile industry.

His career has focused on business process engineering and optimisation unwavering motto of developing a company that continually improves services and intelligently manages and empowers the textiles companies; being highly specialised in knit and woven processing and finishing. Amar has developed a robust enterprise and is associated with several prominent textile machinery manufactures and has a strong International network across 40 countries and handling more than 30 widescale projects.

Amar has developed his successful adaptive coaching approach through 25 years of corporate leadership experience. Working with employees at all levels, Amar partners with leaders to improve their business operations; helping them achieve breakthrough results and ensuring clients acquire the right technology for such enhancements. Amar balances self-knowledge with bold action resulting in enhanced individual performance, team productivity and organizational profitability.

Before founding Rebus, Amar has had two separate long-term tenures as a company Vice President and has served on several International Board of Directors; including being the CEO of SM Holdings. He takes pride in successfully supporting many executives and their teams through demanding calculated business issues.

Amar earned a Double Major in Textile Technology and International Marketing from the University of Bolton, English and has shaped the concept of business performance and profit analysis to fit the needs of his clients throughout the world.
